Northeast’s largest “design-build” renewable energy company, Alteris Renewables, was recently chosen by Inc. magazine as its tenth fastest growing energy company for the Inc. 500 list.

With a revenue growth of 999% from 2005 to 2009, Alteris’ revenue went up by US $32.4 million in total sales in a span of four years.

Alteris installs solar electric and solar thermal systems for residential, commercial, educational, and other institutional customers.

"If you want to know which companies are going to change the world, look at the Inc. 500," said Inc. editor Jane Berentson. "These are the most dynamic, fast-growth companies in the nation, the ones finding innovative solutions to problems, creating smart systems, and inventing products we soon discover we can't live without. The Inc. 500 list is Inc. magazine's tribute to American business ingenuity and ambition."

The 2009 Inc. 500 measured revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify in the list, companies had to be US-based, privately held, for profit and independent as of December 31, 2008. A number of companies on the list have reportedly gone public or been acquired since then.

Alteris Renewables is the largest design-build renewable energy company in the Northeast, with more than 2,250 completed installations over the past 30 years and more than a dozen offices across six states. Alteris provides turnkey photovoltaic, solar thermal and wind energy solutions. The company offers services in engineering, design, project management, performance analysis, project financing and renewable energy credit programs.

Alteris Renewables CEO Steve Kaufman said that their employees’ priority on serving their customers has helped them become a leader in the renewable energy field.

Alteris Renewables was formed in 2008 when Solar Works, which focused on commercial installations, was merged with Solar Wrights, which focused on residential customers.
