Ceramic Fuel Cells Lt said GDF Suez of France, the world's second largest utility, has agreed to fund its share of the development of a fully integrated mCHP, comprising a fuel cell module from Ceramic Fuel Cells together with a condensing boiler from the De Dietrich Remeha Group.

The mCHP unit will produce up to 2kW of power and provide hot water for French households. The integrated mCHP, expected to be delivered to GDF Suez's test facilities in Paris in late November 2009 will have all the functionality expected of a commercial mCHP product.

In parallel the parties will work on the next version of the mCHP for deployment in large numbers. CFU is also developing products with leading utility and appliance partners in Germany, the UK and Japan.
